Artist's Comments

This was done on the fly at the last moment and the last light of day.

Yea, I know the flash really brought out the Scotch-lite on the engine but I think it looks cool.

It was a fitting end to a wonderful day with good friends (best friends), and trains. Besides, this was what was pulling Santa Claus around my railroad. This is riding in style.

I should have brought the tripod and did a good job like I did the Arkansas Capitol shot during Christmas but I was lazy and didn't.

Glad you like it anyway :)

if you can take a good shot without a tripod then you can do wonders!

This shot takes me back to when I rode in KCS1 from the fuel dock down to the depot with "Seaweed" at the throttle. He was complaining about the desktop controls, but he certainly enjoyed using the pull cord to blow the whistle...:)

OH Yeah...I have notice with my camera that the flash enabled in even fair light fires and brings out the striping...I think its cool as well! Good shot....DD
